Guide

Analytics on a WordPress site

The plugin adds the same public script used on any other site. It asks for the key that starts with wtn_. It does not ask for a private secret. The panels are examples of the report layout. They are not a live customer account.

How the plugin is installed

Download the plugin zip, upload it in Plugins, then open Settings and WebTrackNext. Paste the public key and save. The first page view appears after someone loads a public page. Events from a different origin are refused.

Use case. A brochure site on WordPress pastes the key once. Page views, sources, and the uptime check then use that same website in the account.

Limits

  • There is no WooCommerce revenue report.
  • A page that changes without a reload is not a new page view.
  • There is no Google Tag Manager template. A custom HTML tag can hold the same script if the origin matches the registered domain.
Example
<script defer src="https://www.webtracknext.com/tracker.js" data-site="wtn_your_public_key"></script>
